2022 is flying by

Hello,

I hope you’re doing well. Actually, I hope you’re doing more than well in these unprecedented times as we navigate all of this collective trauma. I pray you’re giving yourself grace and if possible, taking more than just a moment for you and finding some joy.

I know it’s been awhile, so I’m popping in to keep you in the loop.

SAVE THE DATE:

I had a cover, but I scrapped it. I’m being a cranky pain in the ass and possibly (definitely) driving my graphic designer nuts. Here’s the thing; I don’t want to use people on covers anymore. It’s always a challenge for me to find exactly what I’m looking for and I’m honestly starting to prefer inanimate objects to models. Regarding this adventure, I’m looking for elegant simplicity and, fingers crossed, we’ve just about narrowed it down. Check out the synopsis below.

From their first meeting, awareness sprang between them. Pretending it didn’t exist was impossible. The disastrous secret threatened to leave destructive consequences in its wake if discovered and yet, it didn’t stop Guy from coveting the attention of the one woman in the world he could never have, God help him, his sister-in-law.

The moment Miguel brought Fern home and she met his younger brother, it confirmed what she already knew. Her marriage had been a mistake. Harboring the guilty feelings and her growing connection to Guy ate Fern alive as she tried valiantly not to fall further from grace and be the best wife and mother possible, given the circumstances.

And then in a tragic twist of fate, the path to one another was cleared. Now Guy has relocated to Baymoor from his beloved Whiskey Row for Fern and their family and the life they’re building together. He’s ready to pop the question and make things official, but is Fern truly ready to give him the answer he’s seeking? Or will outside forces intercede and prevent them from having their happily-ever-after?

In the meantime, June is audiobook month, and the majority of my catalog is available for your listening pleasure!

Yeah, I’m not done with them, or rather, they’re not done with me. The kids are all grown up and they know what they want. Sanctuary is coming in 2023.

Reposting this FYI:

According to Mailchimp, if you unsubscribe from the mailing list and then change your mind, your email can’t be entered again. Crazy, right? Rest assured, it’s not my intent to hold anyone hostage to the newsletter. Should you decide to unsubscribe, that exclusive content (i.e., cover reveals, synopsis, release dates, and graphics) will eventually make its way here and on Instagram, so you’ll still be in the know.

MOVIES:

I’ve seen “Top Gun Maverick” several times. Do not try to “Top Gun” shame me because you can’t. It’s simply not possible. I first saw it when I was ten years old in Zaragoza, Spain (Hey, Cruz!) My family just got stationed at the air base and the movie theater was showing it free for a week. That’s how I met my oldest best friend. We went every day and bonded over being the new kids and fighter jets. “Maverick” is sooo goodT! The flashbacks! Ugh! They had me all nostalgic and in my big and little feelings! I highly recommend if you haven’t seen it. Also, I cannot wait for the new Jurassic movie! I’m such a dinosaur junkie and have even incorporated a paleontologist into an upcoming adventure 😉 But since y’all asked for Savvy & Linc first, guess that one will have to wait, lol.

Stay safe and in good spirits ❤

Sincerely,

D. A. Young

I love your covers with people but I understand innate objects. I wish more authors would switch cause I hate seeing the same people on different books. Sounds crazy but that takes away from the story. Also blah when the pics don’t match the descriptions.
